Tarheel Fish & Game // Fly Tying.

Fly Tying is one of the most relaxing, rewarding parts of the outdoor experience. If you want a “real high” try catching your fish on a fly that you have tied yourself. We offer a huge line of tying vises and materials to give you every option to create your own special fly. With tying classes here at the shop conducted by Dr. Keith Gallaher we will be glad to help show you just how easy you can add to your outdoor experience by tying some of your own flies.

We offer tying classes for specific types of flies as well as classes concentrating on specific fish and the flies needed to catch that certain fish. Dry, Wet, streamers, spun deer hair, popping bugs, salt, nymphs; we can show you how to tie them all! Many have said that once they have learned to tie their own flies, they enjoy the tying just as much as the fishing!
